STRUCTURED LEARNING |
| |
Those who pass their driving test have had, on average, about 45 hours of professional training combined with 22 hours of private practice. |
| |
| The number of hours tuition you will actually require will depend on the following factors, so you could do it quicker or it may take longer: |
| |
- Your previous experience
- Your current ability
- The rate at which you learn
- Your level of motivation
|
| How soon you take a Driving Test will depend on: |
| |
- The number of hours of tuition required
- Your availability for Lessons
- Waiting lists for Theory & Practical Driving Tests
- How soon you need to be driving
|
The schools progress report is a way of helping you and your driving instructor to keep a record of your progress while you're learning to drive. The schools report covers all the core skills required to take the practical driving test plus some of the Pass Plus modules (excluding motorways). |
| |
There are 5-levels for each of the core skills as they are introduced, the skill will be initialed and from this you will be able to see how your skills are developing and where improvement is needed. |
| |
Level 1 introduced
Level 2 it can be carried out under full instruction
Level 3 it can be carried out correctly when prompted
Level 4 it seldom needs to be prompted
Level 5 it can be carried out consistently without any prompting |
| |
| You will practice on as many types of road possible including dual carriageways, in all sorts of traffic this includes winter conditions as this will help you with PASS PLUS training once you have gained your full driving licence. |
| |
Once the progress report has initials in all level five boxes your instructor will advise on booking a driving test. |
| |
| Whilst you are taking practical driving lessons it is important that you study the relevant information for your Theory Test as you can only take the driving test once you have achieved your theory certificate. |
